Very best grill on the market. Heavy duty construction, both removable grill plates and unit hinges. Performs like a champ. Purchased from CHEFS Catalog on Amazon. Extremely nice people to deal with. Fast shipping. This grill beats anything on the market today at either higher or a lower price..Cleanup is a charm. Remove the grill plates and soak for a few minutes, rinse and let dry.

I purchased the Calphalon grill because I have found their products in the past to be well designed and solidly built, and this is no exception. It is not a substitute for an outdoor grill, but it is an excellent tool for making fast, healthful meals. Cleanup is very easy thanks to the removable grilling plates, which can be removed, cleaned, and replaced easily. The key to the flavor of the foods cooked is proper seasoning. I wish the grill had come with more in the way of recipes and cooking instructions – the supplied instruction book is very slim, but using and cleaning the machine is easy so nothing more is really necessary.

I’ve had my Calphalon grill for a while; after using a George Foreman grill this is like a Rolls Royce in comparison! It is well made for the most part, is easy to clean and heats up in about the same time as the George grill.

To those who expect the grill to perform like an outdoor grill, sorry, that’s not what this is about. It has been suggested to cover the chicken brests with oil and I can report this does help. Not perfect, but a decent result that uses a lot less energy than the electric oven and is easier to clean.

If you want a closer grilled type food, some of the counter top convection toaster oven/broilers can do it. I have a Delonghi counter top toaster convection oven which does a better job of having the grilling type cooking, but is a royal pain to clean. If you can live with coating your brests with oil before cooking, this will give a reasonable result with a minimum of effort.

It is somewhat expensive given its purpose, but at least, it is well made.
